Sorted and recycled rather than binned. Metals, tubes and packaging are all collected and given a second life through the program.
Hair clippings
The hair swept off the floor gets repurposed too, into booms that soak up oil spills in our waterways (including The Great Barrier Reef) and compost that goes back into the ground.
Meaningful work
Sustainable Salons provides meaningful employment to people with disability, who sort and process the waste that salons like ours send in. Your appointment helps fund that.
The Green Fee
You'll see a small Green Fee on your bill. It's what covers the collection and recycling of everything above, and it goes straight to the program, not to us. None of this changes your time in the chair. It just means your appointment leaves less behind than it used to.
